Coder, Husband, and Dad

I once jumped off a bulldozer, into an unfinished basement … yeah, I did that …

In retrospect (I was 14), it wasn’t the smartest idea in the world. But man, it was so much fun I had to do it again, and again. As with all stupidity, it eventually caught up with me, and I became paralyzed for several hours and bit off my tongue.

It’s ok though, because at about that same time I was just finishing an IVR suite for a total of $14,000. I was invincible, untouchable, and doing alright in school. So, who cared if I jumped off a bulldozer to hit the ground at 15 mph?

I’m still that fun-loving, hacker-inspired kid that would jump off a bulldozer just for fun. However, these days I got my son to take care of … so I’ll stay away from the bulldozers and keep my parachutes and remote control drones.

Developer By Trade

I learned to code from books and mentors, not from classes and schools. That’s a huge difference… I view the process of creating software as just that – A Creative Process. It’s not just a job, it’s a passion; born from emotion, sweat, and tears. It makes me happy, it keeps me up at night, and it even pays my bills.

To that end, I pour my heart, a little touch of magic, and some verbal flavoring into my code to make it that much more awesome. If you have never seen it before, then you are missing out on a read of a lifetime. I do not just mean my work code either – that doesn’t always get the right mixture; I mean read the code I write for fun.

Husband and Dad

I’m married to the most amazing woman on earth, and the father of one of the best children on earth. It’s a daily challenge to be both these things, but I find a way to make it work.
