You may have noticed I haven't written anything for a while. I'm sorry to say that WordPress is gone. Probably for good.
So … my database caught on fire. Figuratively.
Actually, the disk got corrupted somehow, which normally wouldn’t be an issue. However, I only keep 14 days of disk image backups and only noticed the issue on day 16.
Now. Now I keep 28 days of disk image backups. Luckily, I kept my content backups differently, and I was able to rebuild the blog from scratch. Like, literally, from scratch. This isn’t WordPress any more, though it is largely built on the 2025 WordPress theme … because my backups were HTML. Not text. Because Gutenberg.
It only took a couple of months.
Anyway. I’m back now with this super slick blog theme.
